Authors

HomeInspectionCost.net is run by two people, and the two jobs do not overlap. One researches home inspection pricing and writes what ends up on the page. The other owns the site, sets what it is allowed to claim, and never puts a byline on anything.

Jessica Martinez

Jessica Martinez

Home & Finance Writer. Jessica researches and writes the calculator copy, the cost guides, and the FAQ answers published across this site. Her beat is home and personal-finance topics broadly: inspection pricing, closing costs, and the other numbers that show up around a home purchase. She is not a licensed home inspector and does not perform inspections; nothing she writes stands in for a walkthrough by someone actually licensed to do that. Her figures are drawn from typical inspector pricing patterns and public references such as the American Society of Home Inspectors' Standard of Practice, checked before anything is published. She writes comparable cost guides for a few other home-related sites in the same small network, so the voice may look familiar if you have read one of those.

Chris Terry

Chris Terry

Site Owner. Chris owns HomeInspectionCost.net and wrote the rules on the editorial standards page. He does not research or write any of the pricing content here; that work belongs to Jessica alone. His part is keeping the calculator's assumptions reasonable, deciding how a reported pricing error gets fixed, and making sure a byline never sits on a page its credited author did not actually write.

Why there is only one byline

Every guide on this site was written by Jessica, so every guide carries Jessica's name. There is no shared staff account standing in for a person who did not write the piece. If a second writer joins the site, they get their own entry here tied to the specific pages they worked on. For how sourcing and corrections actually work, see the editorial standards page.
